For a 7 week period each year the 16th century town of Fittlesworth comes to the Bay Area to celebrate a renaissance festival. This is one of the most enjoyable festivals We have been to in Florida. If you like dressing up in the attire of the time period as we do it really helps to enjoy the experience. There is a wide aray of things to do at the festival and each week carries a different theme. Our favorite activity is the shopping though. With over 100 artisans selling hand crafted goods there is plenty to see and buy here.

For entertainment includes, musicians, magicians, jugglers and jousting. Over 15 stages running shows each day. We especially like the human chess match and the joust. There’s also some fabulous food to enjoy as well including our favorite turkey legs.

Bring your camera as there’s plenty of photo opportunities here as well and the beautiful natural setting really make you feel as though you are back in time. As said this is only 7 weekends a year so make your plans and do not miss it!
