Fort Christmas Historical Park, Christmas

We went to Christmas to see some animals at Jungle Adventures down the street. That park did not take us long and the fort was recommended to us by someone there. This turned out to be the best part of our trip.

The original fort was created in 1837 as part of the Second Seminole Indian War, 1835 – 1842. The replica was built by the exact specifications and is a pretty amazing sight. The park also includes buildings that were transported there from early settlements, some going back to the early 1800’s.

These buildings are fully furnished with many antiques that will take you back in time. The park also contains a playground, baseball field, three picnic pavilions two of which seat 100 people and one which seats 50 people. Each pavilion has a large barbeque grill, electrical outlets and water hose. The best part about this place is it is completely FREE!
